I wasn't able to find if this was answered yet. New here. I've had the 3 inch thermal exhaust for a little over a month. My wife got me the CVfab downpipes for Christmas. I cannot get them to fit. Support told me that I needed to cut 1/2 inch off the pipes in order to allow my thermal r&d midpipe to fit. I did as they instructed but they are still 1-3 inches too long. Has anyone else ran into this issue? They responded by saying it's the most popular exhaust setup for the ST and I'm apparently the only one with an issue. That doesn't really help. I also haven't found a single video where it shows this setup fully installed with the midpipe connection not cut out of the video. 3 days later and I still cannot get these things connected. Does anyone have any advice??

CVFAB downpipe w/ thermal 3 in install

"They responded by saying it's the most popular exhaust setup for the ST and I'm apparently the only one with an issue."
Excellent customer service there...no where on their site does it say you have to cut your pipes.
Seems they don't even have install instructions or a video of THEM installing the pipes.
The video they reference for "step-by-step" instructions doesn't mention having to trim the pipes anywhere. I would hook my stock stuff back up and ship their shit back to them, spend your money elsewhere.
The guy in their referenced video has his exhaust tips sticking 3" out past the bumper, maybe that's where the extra 3" goes. Our 3" Thermal tips tuck into the openings way tighter than that, we have stock down pipes.

Make that make sense. Should they have to install their parts to every option on the market or should they for their parts to oem parts and the end user man up and realize he may need to do some modifications?

Or…people can get their heads out of their asses and stop blaming others for their self created problems. If you don’t have enough basic mechanical ability to solve a problem this simple…maybe pay to have someone qualified do the work because there’s a better than good chance this is operator error.
I have the the CVF Downpipes and Thermal 2.5” exhaust. The only issue we ran into was the DP to midpipe connection was a very tight fit and had to expand the thermal midpipe to fit. I blame that on having my thermal exhaust on stock DP before install the CVF Downpipes.
What i recommend is taking the thermal exhaust off

I run the same set up and when I had it all installed they had issues and said they had to do some fab work to get it to fit. So, no sir, this is not an operator error. It's a company lying on their website about a product they know does not fit without some moddification just to make more sales! Their customer support sucks, period!
Tons of people have bolted up this combo with no issues. Most of the issues I’ve seen are the aftermarket mid pipes not sliding over the downpipe end. If you’re not ready to make some adjustments….you shouldn’t be installing aftermarket parts. Period.
The OP had a Thermal exhaust installed previously….which means he had it clamped down tight and very likely mashed the pipe a hair making it too small to fit over the new DP end. Operator error…or lack of experience. No mfg is responsible at that point.

You're partly right. If you're not ready, or able as in my situation, to make adjustments or modifications then you shouldn't be doing it. However, you seem to have missed the part about the OP saying they are too long, not mashed. As I said, the shop that did mine said they had to make some modifications so it didn't just fit together with no issues. I wish I'd have asked what modifications were made but I was just happy with the end results.

Their replay was quite literally “we made a change to the pipe and you should only have to cut 1/2 on the down pipe and it will fit. I had to cut 1.5 inches off the downpipe and another 2 inches off the midpipe. It had absolutely 0 to do with pipe diameter due to previous installation of the factory downpipe. If you cannot be helpful then please don’t bother to comment so negatively. I’ve worked on tons of different cars and done multiple jobs where multi aftermarket parts company’s parts fit together perfect. However these did not as they said they would.
