LOL Yep, the zoom zoom boom was/is what LSPI does to high pressure turbo DI engines. Mazda went first and suffered before it was well understood today.

The Mazda is the best driver of them all.

Yep. Mazda is quickly becoming the brand for people who want a "driver's car". I just wish they had some more powerful offerings. The CX90 renderings have been very handsome. I'm not too fond of the CX70. Hopefully Ford doesn't screw the pooch with their refreshed Explorer, and hopefully they put some attention into the interior. Much like the Koreans, Mazda really punches above their class in how nice their interiors are.

I hope that Mazda sells lots of cars to stay profitable, but I won’t be buying any in the foreseeable future. My FORZDA# moniker made from FORd & maZDA came about because I’ve been a Mazda and Ford fan since 1990 when I bought a 1991 Ford Escort GT that was essentially a Mazda 323 chassis with Ford skin on it. I raced/autocrossed in SCCA Solo & ProSolo for 17 years all around the US with zero failures of any kind. Went through lots of tires though…

Great discussion. Interesting points about Mazda. I do agree that the SkyActiv turbo’s act much more like a turbodiesel in Europe with lots down low and nothing up top. They state they tuned it that way for the soccer moms and folks who want no lag and to not wait for the power to come on. Unique philosophy that clearly works tand has driven sales volume but does not make it as fun for those of us that are into more traditional turbocharged engines a-la EcoBoost

CX-90 would have been on my list if I didn’t have to upsize with a family addition. I couldn’t wait but I bet it’s going to be damn good with that Turbo Inline-6
