My wife called me this morning and said this popped up on the screen, "Please keep both hands on the steering wheel", and then a picture of two hands on a steering wheel??? Anyone else seen this? What's odd, she said she had both hands on the steering wheel. I didn't even know this was a part of the safety features.

if you tare using 'intelligent adaptive cruise control' and it doesn't detect hands on wheel this message will pop up. It is a little sensitive as to where you touch the steering wheel to acknowledge the message.

If you drive perfectly without any/minimal steering wheel movement it thinks your hands aren’t on the steering wheel. Just jerk the steering wheel a little and the message goes away.

Agree with comments above. I just lay my hand on the wheel and it usually detects it. If you get the message, slightly move the wheel and the message will go away.
I did test what happens if you don't put your hand back on the wheel. Deserted road.... It chimed, and then began slowing to a stop. I guess that's good if something bad happened to the driver and hands are removed from the wheel, the Explorer will just stop.
