No, I still have a sample. Just need to mail out.

At this point, with your warranty running out, I’d dig in with the dealership and ask them escalate your case. Worse case scenario, at least all this was fully documented before the warranty expired. Good luck, hope it resolves positively in your favor.
I dropped the car off with 30 miles left on the warranty (With the filter with the metal in). The Service Lady said if the Engine Tech see the metal in the filter, we can order a new engine.

I guess the tech is blind. Still said no metal in the filter.

Ridiculous….You show him the photos?
The metal was in the filter when I dropped off the car. Going to the dealership after work to show the tech.

Pick up my car last night. The Service manger said this is normal for an engine. Is that correct?

See the picture below. This is just on flap of the filter. Glitter everywhere.

The new pictures don’t look great, but prior photos look worse. IMHO and experience, it’s not normal.

Metal does not belong in motor oil, especially at 50k miles. But, like others have said, an analysis will at least give you a little idea of what is in the oil, and if it’s in the normal parameters.

If the dealership is blowing this off, I’d ask the service manager for the regional reps contact info and I’d forward the photos and info to both the regional rep and Ford customer service. If anything bad happens later on, at least you have documentation.

On an aside, the service managers reaction to your request for the regional reps contact info will be telling. If he pushes back, my first question to him would be, “if it’s normal and there’s nothing to hide, why would you care if I contact the regional rep?”

Also, if this is “normal,” why aren’t there dozens of posts here with people who have seen the same thing? And, where is that “normal” metal coming from?

I’ve owned multiple Ford ecoboost products, Focus St, Focus RS, F150 Raptor….None have had metal in the filter.

That’s not right. Unless that filter has 50k miles on it, no way that is normal imo. Predict oil analysis will be ugly.
