Need Advice for Winter Set

I know we are just in Spring now... But I wanted to start doing some winter set research. I have the 20' ST with the Street pack, bigger brakes/rotors & on 21" wheels. I'd prefer to drop down to 18" with more rubber if possible. Would I need spacers so the fitment is just right for smaller diameter but more meat? What are some folks running? I'd like to start looking into this now, rather than waiting till start of Fall.

Anyone running interceptor wheels as a winter set to?

I run a set of 20's with 255 Blizzak DMV2's. They might be going up for sale though, as I think my new Pirelli WeatherActive's might replace them all year round.
