New owner of a 21 ST 47k miles bought about three weeks ago and love it but now I may have some issues. Brought it in yesterday to get the camera recall taken care of and received a message on the ford pass app while it's still there saying powetrain malfunction/ reduced power proceeded to ask the dealership what this means and was told oh it's nothing it probably just popped up and they had to clear all codes or something. BULLSHIT. I get in my ST start driving back to work and it sounds awful with a loud ticking noise that wasn't there when i brought in and even louder when you give it gas. My mechanic looks at it work and he says I don't like the way that sounds bring it back so we do and explain this to them. They finally call me the next day and say hey it may or may not be covered under warranty we think it might be the gear shift module. What does this noise that is coming from the engine have to do with this. Has anyone heard of such a thing. I am a (GM) at a Distribution center for auto parts with a mechanic on site. I think they are complete morons and that I may have to pay for diagnostic fees.

The mechanic also left the plastic cover that goes over the battery on top of the ecu. Thank god it didn't get caught in anything while driving. IDIOTS

IMO - it happened while they had it. I’d call that- not your problem. The noise issue to go along with it AFTER you got it back further backs my opinion on that.
