Rude Awakening On Rims Today!

Hell those are long gone. I’m on my 3rd set of Lionharts and it’s about to get a set of the Atturo AZ850 I think. I’m hard on tires…I average 15-20K miles a set no matter what they are. But…20K miles at $700 a set is much easier to swallow than 15K miles at $3000 a set. lol

I think I am going to follow your lead on the Atturo's. Saw you post about these before and checked them out. Good looking tire too!

I would stay away from the Toyo ST3's. They are very loud. I cant wait to get rid of mine. Problem is I am at 40k miles on these and still over a 1/16" away from the wear bars. I bought them because I thought they would be a good rain tire as I can get 2-4 inches of rain in a day where I live but I've had these tires break loose a few times during the rainy season.

I wish! I'm in Marin County, north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Lots of rain up there in the winter.

22s aren’t necessarily needed. Most of the BBKs work with 20s, spoke clearance is key though.

Could have sworn I read somwhere that 20's wouldn't clear the caliper. Maybe it was just the specific rims they were using. Either way, it adds one more factor into the decision making process and with my F'ed up brain that's an issue to start with! I'm really starting to think about the Velgen Classic5 V2's. I just didn't want to spend that much on rims. Let's say I went with the 22"x10" or 10.5" rim, what would be the widest tire I could put on them? Would it be the 305/35R22? Tire Calculator says they are only 30.4" so the speedo would be off.

I know at least the Rotora’s clear 20s without any mods. The GT350 and GT500 brakes are very large so if you’re looking at 20s I’d look at Project 6gr who knows how to fit the brakes. If you’re going to get aftermarket rims, go all the way and do the proper 22x10.5 +30 and you can fit up to a 315/35r22. Like I said above, KRNC forged seems to be a very reasonable priced option, for a 22 in option they’re around $1950.
