Started a new thread so not to hijack our fellow member with steering failure. My issue is more of an annoyance. First off my daily driver is a 08 F150 with 220K miles. My issue with the ST is the stiffness of the steering. No problem on the twisties, but annoying on the Interstate. I have the lane centering turned off. As I drive and make typical corrections on the highway, the steering feels hard and the corrections result in a twitch or jerking feeling. Not a smooth response to the steering input. Wondering if there is an adjustment that can be done at the dealership. Is this normal and something you get used to?

My steering is not what I would call stiff. Not even in Sport mode. I would hit the dealer if I were you.

I'll try to pay more attention to this, but I've found it to be just the opposite. I think it feels great in all conditions. The smaller ST steering wheel will feel a lot different than the daily driver you've got. Maybe it's just a function of a smaller radius? hope it's alright in the end.

Thank you for the responses. I've got a service apt coming up, I'll add that to the list. Much appreciated. I'll let you know what I find out

hey - did the dealer ever find anything? I have a similar issue and have had mine to two different dealers and they can’t replicate the issue.

Got the same response from dealer as well. Talked to some people and they equated driving the truck then driving the ST as two different animals. Truck steering wheel is much larger than the ST. Steering feel/gearing completely different. Sold the old truck and now drive the ST daily. Either I've gotten used to it or after a few 1000s of miles of breaking I'm not having any issues. The twitching feeling is still a thing but maybe just a much more precise steering on the ST overall

I’ve been having this problem since I got my ST 2 years ago. I HATE IT. I don’t use any of the assist features but the steering feel is MUCH TOO heavy. Can’t stand it, actually have it causing wrist issues. The STs were given artificially heavier steering feel because apparently some people like that for “sportier” vehicles. I can’t stand it. Not to mention the EPAS is completely whack. Keeps trying to turn me off the road and all over the lane. It’s a fight just to keep it straight, and no, there are no alignment issues. It’s an artificial type of thing that causes it to veer all over the road. Also, good luck maneuvering around a parking lot or making a simple turn with one hand, let alone a u-turn, strained my shoulder having to push my hand into the wheel so hard just to pull off the feat with one hand. I CANT STAND IT. The dealer says all STs drive like this. Everything else I drive I don’t have this issue, so I know it’s not just me having weak wrists. I’ve been driving cars for 20 years and only ever had a tough steering issue when I had to replace a steering rack that used hydraulic steering assist. I truly don’t understand why I seem to be the only one having these issues with my ST and the dealer has found nothing wrong multiple times, I’ve taken to different mechanic shops as well. I even had to sell off a set of aftermarket wheels and tires I paid a total of $4k for because it made the steering EVEN HEAVIER than stock. I recuperated $1K… F*** this car. I think the only solution might be to swap a steering rack with a Platinum.

I posted here because I can’t find any other threads talking about this. Everywhere I call says the EPAS can’t be adjusted.

If you’re ever going to be up near High Point, let me know. You can drive my 21 and be able to tell your dealer that something is absolutely wrong with yours.
