Thermal R&D 2.5" installed

Hey,
I installed Thermal R&D 2.5" exhaust last week. Love the sound. Morning warm up rumble is perfect for waking my son up at 6am for high school (car is usually backed up facing his bedroom window). Cold warm up (25f here at night) usually lasts about 5-10 minutes. Then it really quiets down until you get on it.
I only have 1 issue with the install. Tips are sitting in way too recessed for my liking. Everyhting is aligned perfectly and all connections are close together. Should I loosen the section between mid pipes and muffler and push the whole system back (1/2")? I have no issues with it except for parking aid sensons in the morning throwing off errors from exhaust fumes.

I just finished installing the exact same thing on my 25 today. Just Move the tips out. I spent quite a bit of time getting them both the same. I used a small level as well. Turned out nice.

Never heard that one before, rear sensors going off because of exhaust fumes. Should be able to just move the whole system back like you mentioned.

Its been cold here in NJ.. The sensor might be fogging up from exhaust.

They should have ample room to adjust with the nice clamps that Thermal provides, plenty of wiggle room to adjust. Reminds me I need to get back under and re-adjust mine. Had to take one muffler off to do the Steeda diff brace and I was in a rush to put it back on not lining it up perfectly. Only I notice but still bugs me lol.

You may need to adjust all the clamps evenly to get to the desired tip position , just keep that in mind. Better to adjust a few a little then try to make up all the room with just one set of clamps leaving not much between pipe ends.

Oh I know NJ cold. I grew up in Woodbridge not far from you.

Perfect fit and look after spending an hour adjusting it today. Passenger side was super easy to get perfect, drivers side - pita.

Same here, my driver's side on the 3" is not perfect. I need to adjust it but it's so cold.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has uneven tips lol Spent 2hrs taking off the stock and putting on the new pipes and once I was done I noticed it and said to hell with it, Its not bad but I only notice it until I point it out. Think ill just buy a case for a local shop and be done with it.

I just received by delivery for the Thermal R&D. I’ll probably wait until the Spring to install due to the temperature. Does anybody have any tips/tricks they want to share?

Every car will be slightly different. What worked for me was pushing entire exhaust system back about 1/2" between mid muffler and flex pipes to allow for additional exhaust tips extension. Then aligning passenger side to perfection (easy). Last and the most pita part was to align drivers side. Every connection after mid muffler on the drivers side is at an angle and makes it more challenging to get perfect. Took me 2-3 arrempts to get it right.
