So, Blown, you think it’s my fault this is a pos?

I have Macs - so far I haven’t seen the cost-benefit of buying a computer, dongle and a subscription for $500 when the f’wits at Ford could do it with their computer, if they weren’t thick as two planks At my dealer.
Basically yes and I say that because I can reproduce what you whine about if I drive like an idiot.

There are a few options to get your FENG disabled, if it really bothers you.
1. Load up a Windows emulator on your Mac
2. Buy a used PC for peanuts
2. Check Facebook groups for F-150’s or Explorers and search for folks that have Forscan and will help you out. There probably is someone in Victoria or Nanaimo. I know there are guys in Vancouver that do it, but would only make sense if you’re loading up on the Ferry for some other reason.

You can search this site or shoot me a DM and I’ll gladly send you the line and character in the ACM that needs to be changed to disable via ForScan.

If you put even 1% of the effort you put into complaining towards solutions, you would have some solutions, or at least some understanding and move onto another vehicle.

You’re right, “something is messed up with the system.” That’s why I hate the system, it’s all false warnings. My driving is just fine thanks and my F150 works just fine. I’m snarky because it is not a personal failing that causes this car to mess up and the Forscan might just fix it but it won’t stop the false warnings and other nonsense.

We are 2500 miles in on our 21 ST, zero false alarms. We routinely have to pull in and out of tight spaces to park in our garage. Never had one issue with a safety system going off when it shouldn’t. ‍But Ford gives you the option of turning them all off, so I don’t see what the issue is.
All new cars are going the direction of more nannies unfortunately. I’m pretty sure we will always find faults in them.

We are loving our ST. Only major gripe is the laggy Sync system. But honestly we don’t even mess with the screen all that much. Engine and transmission are smooth…no problems. There are a few other nitpicks, but you can find those on every car. There is no perfect car.

I also haven’t had any problems with the safety warnings. They have only gone off when there has been a car too close.

I hate the shift knob.

You could probably get top dollar for it given the constraints around supply lines etc.

Love my ST! I have had zero real problems with anything. (Though I did disable the double honk via Forscan.)

My only complaints are how long it takes to initialize my USB stick, but as long as I turn off my stereo before I shut off my truck and wait about 20-30 seconds before I turn it on, its fine. And the silly configuration of the cameras on the larger screen. So much wasted real estate.

You can disable a lot of the safety features with ForScan, however you insurance (even ICBC) is probably a little lower because of them.

I find it very hard to believe that both your fore and aft sensors are messed up.

The left side always bleeps red even if I back up out of a parking spot and there is nobody next to me. Driving on our “highway,” if there is a car parked on the side of the road I get that annoying “collision” thing on the screen. If I try and use the enhanced cruise control it brakes and shouts at me for no reason. I have shut off as much of it as I can, bearing in mind that many of them come back with a restart.

Here’s some more for you to attack me with: I also dislike that all of the buttons on the steering wheel have been rearranged from every other Ford I’ve owned so that every time you need to use something you have to look.

How about the backup camera? I’m either running, in reverse, waiting for the screen to give me backup info or I go anyways with the mirrors and I’m out of the spot and ready to drive before the screen is awake? I also hate that the large screen only allows a 1/4 backup camera view Until you push a button which gives you half but deletes the surround (which is also tiny).

My new 2016 Lariat was in the shop for 6 weeks when new, to try and find a leak, the doors would not latch when it was freezing out and that got recalled twice to fix, the tailgate fell open by itself and got recalled but that car was still way better than this one.

@Xsbank: Every time you complain on the forum people try to give you advice to help. You never acknowledge any help and continue to complain. What exactly do you want from the people here? Take the vehicle into your Ford dealership and bitch at them. Of course, they won't be able to help you find higher octane gas stations, change the orientation of your steering wheel controls, help you fill the screen with information to your satisfaction or disable the FENG. All of which a normal person would have figured out with just a bit of research (or test drive) before they plunked down their money! You have 60+ posts and nearly all of them are you ranting about something for which people offer solutions only for you to ignore them. If I was as unhappy with a vehicle as you seem to be, I'd sell it....unless you get off on whining over the internet.

Keep whining.

I’m jealous that you all have perfect examples of this thing that arrived perfect from the factory. I’m very pleased that you are all so happy with your cars. I wish this thing hadn’t turned out to be such a disappointment after my Lariat.

My trunk ST symbol is applied crooked. I guess I’ll just scrape it off.

Here's something that I haven't done until today. Understand I'm coming from a Jag XF supercharged. Faster than the ST, yes, but that's an apples-oranges comparison. However, today for the first time (I really have been laying low since covid, now vaccinated), I put it in Sport mode as I have before, BUT, I also put it in manual. I have to tell you, it completely transforms the vehicle. Set up like this, it shifts faster via the paddles than my Jag ever did, I couldn't keep the grin off my face! Heading for "Tail of the Dragon" this week (avoid weekends), just for kicks.

Suspicion confirmed. You just get off whining on the internet. Are you an only child, or just the baby of the family? ;-)

If you list any more issues that I'll need to address to put this Exploder in proper order I'll need to reconsider that 10K offer.

You know that 10K offer was in US $$$. The exchange rate should be favorable for you.

LIKE: The motor (the characteristic of - power torque delivery and how it works with the 10 spd)

HATE: Double Honk when you get out of the vehicle while it is running (soon to be disabled)
I understand the frustration but I’ve learned to just leave the fob in the car and it won’t double honk. And if you need to get out just lock the doors with the keypad :)

Likes: performance w/tune, vehicle versatility, STEALTHY

Dislikes: seats are uncomfortable, dash leaves infinitely more to be desired, and vert center console with the tech package is frustrating at best.

Honestly I like the knob gear shift..... No sense in giving a stalk with an auto-magic transmission IMHO

Sounds like you need to just own up to driving like a prick. Embrace it sir, but don't bitch about people giving you fixes to your problems it gives me a headache.

Mine goes off all the time, when I'm weaving in and out of traffic.

The dragon is a bunch of fun in the exploder! Here's some pics from a recent trip.

My guess is that you hold a lot of sway in the Yelp community, your reviews are so artuculate.

Why did you accept delivery/not bring issues to your dealership's attention? Because from our perspective you'd rather whine and bitch rather than actually fix anything about your car.

Yes, I made a huge mistake buying this junk. Yes, I am actively looking for a replacement and look forward to only ever seeing a dealer again for free oil changes.

Doesn’t anyone else see the irony? Buying a new $70,000 vehicle, then being exhorted to buy an aftermarket add-on with an iffy (“get the correct version”) eBay Chinese dongle that is supposed to make it drivable? This is supposed to be a good thing? No wonder China is eating your lunch.

Oh, I got the mud flaps today that I ordered with the car four months ago. The parts lady was really excited! I also noticed that they had received a bunch of new crate motors, all V6s and some transmissions, all for warranty work. I guess we’re really hard on our cars up here and perhaps that explains why my shit electronics and wrinkled leather are not so high on their priorities. It must be the buyer’s fault that these cars are all broken because we’re all such shit drivers.

Really? Bye bye
