What's the best option to black out these 20in aluminum wheels?

Recently bought a 22 ST. No big on mods but I am looking to black out these wheels. What's an affordable option to do this without buying an OEM set? I've seen wheel covers and skins floating around but not sure how reliable those are or which one's will actually match the wheels.

I got a quote from one place near me for around $700 to do all 4 but that's if no repolish is needed before they do the treatment. Exploring all options I guess would've been a better way to put it lol

Not a bad price imo. I had 4 done for 600 with some minor very minor rash about 10 years ago.

I looked into powder coating and they quoted me $800 to strip, treat and powder coat four wheels.

How has it held up over the years? I live in PA so road salt is my one concern. I'm just not that familiar with powder coating but it definitely beats the price of buying a new set

You are going to have to break down the tires from the wheels, remove any weights, have the wheels stripper (sandblasted), have them powdercoated, then get the tires remouinted and balanced.

You might be able to save a few bucks by having the rims sandblasted independently so the powdercoater only has to powdercoat them. You could address any dings, etc. yourself with high grit sandpaper if needed before they get sandblasted. Having to go to a tire shop, then to a sandblaster, then to the powdercoater, and then back to a tire shop would all be a pain!

3 years of winters and no apparent wear. Probably put 60k plus miles on them, then I sold it.

The place I used in Chicagoland included dismounting and remounting in the 600 price….10 years ago. IIRC it was Wheels America.
