Code U2110 after Spark Plug and Filter Change

I had left the plug to the throttle body off and forgot to reattach after the swap! Too simple

Code U2110 after Spark Plug and Filter Change

Having a weird issue and I'm not sure if it's related to something specific. After swapping out all 6 spark plugs today to NGK 95605's and a new engine intake filter. After wrapping up and starting the vehicle I get a rough idle and rich fuel smell. Vehicle diagnostics show a U2110 error code...

    DIY Brake Change

I'll check them out. I hated hot paint because it didn't come in a variety of colors but I had lots of people use regular rustoleum spray paint and have pretty good success on painting calipers and it maintaining over time. I think prep of the surface is probably the biggest factor and not the...

    DIY Brake Change

It was a consideration but due to distance and shipping it wouldn't really save me much.

    DIY Brake Change

Wasn't expecting a performance gain on the brakes although I do expect them to be a little bit better as I still have the smaller sized stock brakes and there's 103K miles on them already.

    DIY Brake Change

Alumibrite is amazing stuff! Used to be a manager at Home Depot and loved to recommend that stuff. It's like barkeepers friend for car parts. My calipers look pretty good already though before the prep. I was just thinking of hitting it with some Kilz spray primer after some light cleaning and...

    DIY Brake Change

Done a couple of brake jobs myself already in the past but it was on cars that are 20 years old or older nowadays. Wasn't sure with the newer vehicles if there were new methods/tools/procedures that would require new tool purchase or knowledge etcetera. Looks like brake service mode is fairly...

Good to know. Thanks for the correction!

    DIY Brake Change

My '20 ST didn't include the road and track pack but they opted for the 21" rims. I want to swap out the existing brakes to the Power Stop Z23 sport brakes myself but I'm not sure that the tools I have make the job worth it as I'm getting quotes in the high $200 range to swap out the brakes if I...

P07E4 & P0456 Codes and Parking Pawl Solenoid

Parking pawl and pawl solenoid had failed. The pawl was almost shattered and bouncing around in the transmission. Dealership ended up dropping transmission and having to fish out pieces and install new pawl. Total out the door with parts and labor was near $2K for me.

That was more in line with the stock GNX which was the ultimate unicorn! The stock '87 GN on basic A/T tires was around a mid 5 second zero to 60. They were definitely tunable but back then a lot of stuff was ordered via catalog and tuning wasn't as robust as it was today. You could by...

Very much so! I had a 1993 silver Ford Escort hatchback with a red cloth interior. I saved up cash for a year and bought that 1987 GN in 1999. I remember a buddy of mine couldn't understand why I wanted the car until I took him for a ride in it. I was able to easily dive into the 4 second zero...

    Tune Level

Confirmed my 2020 ST had the dual bolts at the rear differential. That was going to be the first thing I fixed if it had a single bolt. I have the AEM dry flow drop in filter now and I think I'll stick with that. The tune and IC will probably be all I do to the vehicle. I have an appointment...

Exactly my thoughts too. We're super lucky to have a vehicle this capable and at this price point. I know the full breathing package is the route to take but like I mentioned in the beginning, I'm not ready to go down the rabbit hole again. As tempting as it is, it always ends up like every home...

    Tune Level

True but when you consider the gains already for the total $ package. The reason this vehicle is so impressive is just how cheap it is to enter that 3 second territory. The only car I've ever made performance enhancements to was a 1987 Grand National. Back in the day it was a lot harder to pull...

That's still so crazy to me that we can pull those levels of improvement with just a proper tune and intercooler swap. I'm excited.

P07E4 & P0456 Codes and Parking Pawl Solenoid

'20 ST hit 95K miles and recently had a new issue pop up. -Since ownership on a few separate occasions I would find that while cruising at highway speeds I would attempt to pass another and begin to accelerate. All of the sudden it would seem as if there was a loss of connection between...

Didn't think about doing the downpipes by themselves. I'll have to start considering that instead.

    Tune Level

That's kind of how I thought it would go down. I know the ideal scenario is the full intake/pipes/exhaust overhaul that'll net significant gains in the tune. Just don't think I want to venture too far down that path. I need to swap out my brakes soon too so I'm already in for a bit $
