Washing the Explorer today and was drying the door jams. Where the hinge strap attaches to the door it looks like the picture below. Both front doors are like this. The rear doors have covers on them as pictured. Can someone check their front doors and see if they have covers? Thanks.

Doesn't that look unfinished to you? That's what I thought when I saw mine.

My 2020 has covers front and rear. Didn't check real close but they might be the same part.

This is the second missing part I’ve found. It was missing the left lower splash guard also. (It had the right one) Anyone else missing these?

Are you planning to have your dealer get and install them? Or just do it on your own?

I’ll have the dealership get them and I’ll put them on. I figure I’ve already paid for them once. Disappointing build quality for such a premium price vehicle.

Mine is almost 2 years old and I did have those hinge covers but was missing a few other parts like others here. I had the dealer provide and install. The thing that bothers me most now is, despite how good it looks and drives most of the time, the annoying noises, rattles, vibrations, squeaks, lunges from the drivetrain and intermittent electronic glitches make it feel like a cheaper and older car, not a $60K 2020 model year vehicle!

Wonder if it’s tied to a certain build date? Mine was built in August 2020.

so I am getting the rattle in the left passenger door fixed (new sunshade) - hopefully! I showed the dealer the 'missing' front door plugs. They called later and said they looked at other explorers on the lot and none of them had the plugs. I asked them to order anyway and I'll pay (~$15) and also pointed out the plugs are in the tech drawings for parts, so they should be there. They did comment that it is unusual. Since the parts are cheap I didn't push the topic and just asked them to order them.

I checked my '21 and the front are missing, rear are present.
I wouldn't have ever thought about looking at this so thanks for the thorough check over!
