There’s nothing wrong with plastic oil pans…and these aren’t the only cars to use them.

One of the benefits of plastic oil pans and cam covers is they don't transmit engine noises like metal does. Plastic can be molded to accept captured in place rubber gaskets also.

There is a metal pan made by FenFab that seems pretty good but personally I think $600 is kinda steep for what you are paying for it’s basically sheets of aluminum welded together. The PPE trans pan is made from basically the same amount of aluminum and it’s $200 less, even the Banks power oil pans for the trucks made from more aluminum and all the patents cost less money lol.
