That's incorrect it is still a compacted graphite iron upper.

It comes down to advertising Ford advertises the truck motors as having the iron block because that matters to people cuz they want the perception to be that it is a strong motor and really only half of the block the upper half is cast iron or compacted graphite iron.

On the cars and all of the Lincoln stuff they advertise it as an aluminum blocked because they want to give the perception of it being lightweight and Powerful.

In all reality the motors are nearly identical with only a slight difference in bore and stroke and camshafts. There's also a couple different head configurations depending on if it's transversely mounted or longitudinally mounted.

Thats great info! There was a lot of conflicting info out there with some sites saying it was CGI, some saying it was changed to aluminum, like fordauthority. Rather have the CGI for durability.

Like I said it comes down to advertising and perception/target market.

If you look at ford and Lincolns own website it says aluminum as the block material which is partly true I guess.

Hmm... This is tempting
What kind of power can I expect to make with a conservative 91 tune?
I'm in Canada, we don't have access to the greatest fuel.

Downpipes (once spd quality issues improve)
Whipple IC
3" exhaust
These upgraded turbos

It's going to be harder to make good power that's for sure. But bigger turbine =less cylinder pressure and less cylinder pressure means the octane doesn't have to be as much. So it'll make more, probably about 100 more than what we could on stock turbos and 91.

Is it the low octane fuel that's holding things back?
Or the stock fuel system?

94 is available, but only one brand carries it.

Low octane... 94 would be better. Could have 2 tunes for wouldn't have to run 94 all the time.

Wisconsin.

If you want to do turbos, I suggest going with crp, because they are already in Canada I've been working with them on something a little better than the stage 3.

If I pull the trigger and the border ever opens, I'll be making a road trip for some tuning
