Brembos were delivered today. Rotors are shipped. And I’m about to get on a plane until Sunday then back on another one Monday. Guess I can wait a few more days....

Can’t wait for Saturday.
In case anyone missed the RB thread somehow these are 380mm front rotors from Racing Brake to fit the SRT Jeep 6 piston Brembo calipers and PowerStop ceramic pads. The rear rotors are stock street pack size to retain the oem rear caliper with built in EPB.

I got Power Stop ceramic street pads for the front. Since the rear is keeping the oem 355mm rotor size I ordered the rear Track Pack pads from Ford. Gonna see how they act with the bigger front stuff.

Is there any sort of proportioning valve for front to back braking?

Not being familiar with the ST's ABS, there must be some sort of automatic proportioning in response to differences in the wheel speed sensors? I can understand that happens under ABS engagement, but it has to be happening somewhere, doesn't it? I'm curious. My last car was Jag XF which was known under light braking to only engage the rear brakes and they needed replacement much more than the fronts. Curious.

I’m not sure but I’ve put way bigger brakes than this on several other new trucks and never had an issue.
Wilwoods on my last F150 and giant Rotora stuff on a Ram R/T and never had any issues...nothing but positive things to say about those.

Google is my friend, and you're right, the explorer uses EBD "Electronic Brake force Distribution". So, theoretically, you can use larger brakes without having to worry (within reason) about increasing braking without worrying about proportioning manually when going to larger brakes. Thanks for answer.

I wonder what the real benefit if any do aftermarket brakes have for the normal driver? I tow 10,000 lbs with a stock pickup and have never felt the breaks were to little and I've dropped off some steep nasty crap. In the ST I find the brakes almost to sensitive and grabby as is.

I drive mine pretty hard with a local group...the fade is real after long drives on curvy roads.

I’m interested in what would happen if you added in a manual rear brake lever, like you would to kick the rear out in a drift. I can get mine to kick now, but need it to rotate quicker and without so much effort. Never considered there might be an issue adding, but doing so may make the truck bias the fronts and do unexpected shit. Hmmmm

Im not talking about a parking brake. Im talking about an in-line single throw that is normally a pass through to the rear brakes, unless you grab it and yank and it works the rear calipers just as if you used your foot brake expect this only drives pressure on the rear. You use it toss the rear into a skid and start the rotate. You can get there with just a swedish flick on the wheel, and a foot brake bump in the process to start the rotate but its not optimal IMO
I do know CJ Pony Parts does have an electric E-brake deal like you mentions for the Ford Focus. But I’m cool leaving that system alone.

I actually raced rally cars for two years back in the 90's til I realized I had neither the budget nor the requisite recklessness for such an endeavor in both a subaru and an all-trac. The only time I ever used that form of braking was in 180 degree type turns on dirt and at lower speeds. Are you going to do a lot of non tarmac racing with your ST? Just curious. Sorry for hijacking the thread.
